A former member of LoneStar, who left after a contract job went south. Raised in a A zone primarily housing Ares subsidiary employees, at age 18 after highschool he attended the lonestar academy and after graduation joined at age 20 with aspirations of ‘doing good’. Being young and stupid, he signed on for the extra hazard pay of SWAT/Rapid Response. After 7 years of the grind, his request to attend detective training was approved. Before he was able to begin trianing for his new role, he was set on a final run with SWAT, a contract run for a low level corp to retrieve and escort a lead scientist from his apartment to their corporate enclaves downtown, with an additional bonus to ensure the job was done quickly. The job of course went sour, as a team of runners attempted to kidnap the scientist inside the apartment complex. At some point in the ensuing chaos, a fire began to consume the building. The lead officer of the mission felt it was more important to stick to the mission and extract the scientist than to ensure the safety of the families living in the building. Higgs ignored these orders, storming off into the building to try to organize people escaping and stop the panic. He was found later collapsed in the building by the firefighters responding. Though he was treated for the physical and psychological issues coming from what he had experienced, due to a run in with black IC when he was young, Higgs had recurring flashbacks of the flames and the screaming in the burning building. Written up for ignoring orders, and having been scrapped from the detective program, he left the force in disgust. He attempted to start up a new life using what training he had to become a private detective. From there, he fell to the shadows, figuring at least he would be free to choose how he accomplished his jobs.
